CBI Completes Pending Import-Related Fund Transfer Requests
In a statement, the CBI said it had fulfilled all eligible requests for import-related fund transfers that had remained outstanding before the exchange rate adjustment.
The CBI urged the traders and companies covered by these requests to contact their banks to verify that their international transfers had been executed.
It also called on traders and companies to file complaints through the bank’s electronic complaints platform if transfers were unjustifiably delayed or if they were asked to pay additional amounts in violation of the approved regulations. The central bank of Iraq said it would take the necessary measures against banks found to be in breach of the rules.
The CBI reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring banks’ compliance with the applicable regulations and instructions governing fund transfers.
It also reassured traders, companies, and citizens that import financing would continue on a regular basis, with foreign currency made available through banks to meet eligible requests. The move, it said, would help sustain trade activity and ensure the continued flow of goods into domestic markets./ End
