Baghdad Environment Directorate shuts down three ready-mix concrete plants for violating environmental regulations
The campaign was conducted under the mandate of the committee established by Diwani Order (241285), which is tasked with monitoring activities that violate environmental guidelines and implementing Cabinet decisions. The committee is led by the Baghdad Operations Command and the Ministry of Environment—represented by the Department for the Protection and Improvement of the Environment (Central Region) and the Baghdad Environment Directorate—with the participation of the Environmental Police Directorate (Al-Rusafa), the Za'franiyah Security Office, and the Federal Police unit responsible for territorial security in the area.
In a related context, the Director of the Baghdad Environment Department, Sadiq al-Mousawi, stated that the campaign also included an environmental inspection of a ready-mix concrete production company. The inspection revealed that the company is still in the process of obtaining environmental approval. Al-Mousawi noted that the owner has been informed of the necessity to complete the formal procedures and secure the required approvals, ensuring compliance with current environmental regulations and guidelines. / End
