Iranian Security Official: Tehran Prepares for a Comprehensive, Large-Scale War
The Iranian channel "Press TV" reported on Wednesday, citing the source, that Tehran has made a "decisive decision" to respond to any aggression—including killings and assassinations—without any restrictions or constraints.
The source added that "the Iranian armed forces are on high alert to deliver crushing blows, utilizing their full strength, against the interests and targets of the aggressors and their supporters in the region." He emphasized that Tehran’s decision is final and that any new military attack would be met with a large-scale response.
The security official noted that Iran does not believe the United States would launch an attack without the participation of Israel, nor does it consider it likely that Israel would act alone against Iran without Washington’s involvement. He dismissed the notion that either party might act independently in a war against his country, describing such an idea as a "bitter joke." The source stated that "threats from American and Israeli officials to launch an attack on Iran provide Tehran with a legal and moral justification to take necessary defensive measures."
In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum to cease hostilities; however, they resumed exchanging strikes shortly thereafter.
At present, the conflict remains unresolved. Although direct combat between the two sides has ceased, the United States is now relying on economic pressure against Iran.
The escalation surrounding Iran—stemming from the U.S.-Israeli campaign against it—has paralyzed navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital conduit for oil and gas supplies from the Gulf. This has led to a rise in the prices of fuel and industrial goods across most of the world. / End
