Baghdad /NINA/ – The Border Ports Authority announced the arrest of a suspect in his possession of counterfeit local currency at the Shalamcheh border crossing.
In a statement, the Authority reported that units at the Shalamcheh border crossing intercepted an Iraqi national carrying a sum of counterfeit local currency—specifically 25,000 Iraqi dinar notes—which had been divided into two portions and concealed inside his personal wallet.
The Authority further stated that an official seizure report was filed, and both the suspect and the confiscated items were referred to the Organized Crime Department in Shatt al-Arab for the necessary legal proceedings. /End
